Well, the year is drawing to a close and we are now thinking of family get-togethers,holidays and possible financial ruin as the credit card bills start arriving. Our club over October and part of November has run up 150x volunteer hours according to the Community Service Register with some members still not registering their hours. Very impressive.

Howick Lions Open Day a Great Success

Kids brought in their colouring sheets, we sold a few Xmas cakes, sold quite a few raffle tickets, collected a lot of glasses and currency, a couple of hearing aids and sold a box of blankets for Kidz First. Our new MP for Pakuranga, Simeon Brown also came over with his wife Rebecca.

A Busy Week of Service for Howick Lions Club

Painting at Howick Historical Village, hosting 2nd Vice District Governor Judy Allison at our dinner meeting, presenting Lion Dave Downie with the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award and recognising Lion Neil Hornblow for bringing two new members into the club. A great start to spring!

​Well, I managed to survive Change of Officers night and my first business meeting as your new president without the nerves getting too out of control so I feel far more confident now - I think! Our club is now gearing up for events and projects as winter closes.
