Greetings fellow members;

The first of our three big annual events is almost upon us. i.e. Our Seniors' Christmas Lunch. This was the first event I ever attended as a member and I remember being impressed by the large number of guests being hosted, the team effort and the great entertainment. This year’s will no doubt be the same. The St Andrew's Big Band is my favourite. Bringing prospective members along to help at this project is a great way to introduce them to Howick Lions. Thank you to all the members and partners who helped to make this event the success that it is.

A special shout-out to our newest member Tina Singh; welcome to our club. I'm sure you will be a great asset to the club. My advice: - you get as much out of Lions as you put in, so go for it. Newer members don't forget; on the second page of every Tatler is the roster for the upcoming Dinner Meeting. Please come prepared if you are rostered for a job and if you don't know what to do, please ask your sponsor for guidance.

I hope you all have a much-deserved Christmas holiday break, but before you do don't forget there is our final 2018 Business Meeting for the year on 19 December.

Thought for the month:

“It's better to be a Lion for a day than a sheep all your life.” – Elizabeth Kenny

That’s all for now and a Merry Christmas to you all
