Fellow Lions

Here we are once again in lockdown, so our August busines meeting was attended by 17 members on the Zoom site, kindly arranged by Alan Mead, the details of which I am sure you have read in the minutes of the meeting, which were promptly produced by secretary Alan Sheath. Thank you all for your support.

The recent Zone meeting at which we were represented by Judith Korau, Neil Hornblow, Alan Sheath, and myself, was interesting, and Neil raised the Men’s Health Meeting, and the Zone, in principle agreed to support it. The usual conversations on membership etc.

Just a few reminders; the sausage sizzle for September 5th is still on, providing The Warehouse and Government don’t interfere with our plans; as is the Movie Night on Thursday 10th September. Please get out and sell these tickets to family and friends; remember other members give a lot of their time to arrange these events so let us support them.

Past President Paul has volunteered to be our club’s organiser for the “Pest Free Howick” project, so please get in behind him and make this a successful project.

Footnote: Events have overtaken us, and by the time you read this our Pot Luck Dinner has been cancelled, and re-scheduled to Saturday October 3, a date hopefully Covid-19 levels allow. Thanks to all of you for making this such a successful and enjoyable club to belong to.
